KATHMANDU, March 10: Equal Access International (EAI) completed one year of the Sahi Ho! campaign, a campaign funded by UN Women Nepal designed to strengthen and promote the leadership and participation of women in the economic sector.
Speaking at the event organized in the capital, Binita Shrestha, Country Representative of EAI mentioned that the campaign was successful in highlighting the plight of women in the economic sector, and also bring forward the structural barriers and deep-rooted socio-cultural biases against women in the workforce.

“Evidence generated from the 12 districts where the campaign was launched suggests that the societal bias against women devalues the economic role of women and succumbs them to traditionally constructed roles, which leaves them vulnerable to violence at home, and in the hands of society.”
Dr Kiran Rupakehti, chief, Good Governance and Social Development Department of the National Planning Commission (NPC) lauded the campaign for creating a positive impact, and expressed the government's support to the campaign, and stressed its replication in other provinces.
