KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Cricket Association of the Blind (CAB) has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Sahas Sports Pvt Ltd on Monday. Sahas Sports is set to provide match and practice kits for international stints.
The managing director of Sahas Sports, Janak Neupane along with the president of the CAB, Pawan Ghimire signed the contract papers.
CAB’s President Ghimire lamented the lack of practice ground for blind cricketers. “We have not been able to practice properly because of the training ground. If we get a proper practice ground, we would do better in the international competitions,” said Ghimire.
The national team of visually impaired cricket players is preparing to participate in the upcoming 5th One Day Cricket World Cup for the Blind to be held in Pakistan and UAE starting from January 10 to 25, 2018.
National cricket team’s captain Paras Khadka has praised the efforts of the blind player's team for making it to the world cup despite any infrastructure and facilities.
