Buddha Lama´s goal in the ninth minute of the match turned the tables in favor of Sahara to defeat Yeti Himalayan Sherpa, the runner-up of the recently concluded National ´A´ Division League. [break]
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa tried to make a comeback and made frequent attacks though they conceded a goal in the early moments of the first half. Sherpa´s players missed frequent chances in the second half. Sherpa made three attempts in the last five minutes of the match but Sahara foiled them all.
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa coach Nawal Gurung said it was an unlucky defeat.
Sahara coach Kiran Shrestha was happy to beat well set top-tier club in the semifinal. "It was a virtual final for us. Now, we are hoping to take away the trophy to Pokhara," said Shrestha.
Bishan Gauchan of Sahara Club was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
Sahara will take on the winner of the semifinal match between Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) and Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) in the final to be played on Saturday. The second semifinal will be played on Thursday.
