Half of the group matches will be held at the Bangabandhu Stadium, Dhaka, and remaining in Chittagong. Likewise, wushu, wrestling, cycling and three matches of cricket will also be held outside capital Dhaka.
He also claimed that the preparation for SAG was going on as per the plan. “We will be ready during the stipulated date for SAG,” he said. Remaining games out of 23 disciplines will be held in Dhaka.
The 11th SAG is slated to be held from January 29 to February 9.
Incentive for Nepali football team
DHAKA, Bangladesh, Dec 9: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to provide Rs 20,000 each to the players, coaches and officials of the football team representing Nepal in the Sixth South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship.
ANFA President Ganesh Thapa informed that the cash prize is being provided to encourage the team for their commendable performance in the regional event although they were not able to defeat the defending champions, the Maldives, and India.
Nepal had to be content with a 1-1 draw with the Maldives in the first match while they lost 1-0 to India in the second match.
“We deserved victory in both the matches but luck did not favor us,” said Thapa after announcing the incentive. He said, “This will boost the morale of the players as they face Afghanistan. Victory or defeat in a game is natural.”
Wins for Reliance, Mount Kailash, NIMS in basketball
KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Reliance, Mount Kailash and hosts NIMS ´A´ and ´B´ won their respective matches under boys´ category in the ongoing First Nitten Thakuri Memorial Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Wednesday.
Reliance outplayed Alok Bidyashram 23-12 and Mount Kailash edged out Daffodil 54-41. NIMS ´B´ saw off Alok Bidyashram 27-19 and NIMS ´A´ downed Galaxy 42-35.
In the girls´ section, NIMS, Kantipur and Excelsior emerged victorious. NIMS hammered Daffodil 28-3 and Kantipur thrashed Teresa 28-9. Likewise, Excelsior outfoxed Reliance 13-2.
The matches were held at the hosts´ court in Tokha.
