KATHMANDU, Sept 22: A painting exhibition ‘Sadan’ – comprising the artworks of artists Sabita Dangol, Anamika Gautam, Deepmala Maharjan, Anisha Maharjan, and Namrata Singh -- is on display at Classic Gallery, Chakupat.
Like the title of the exhibition suggests, which means an artistically built house or a platform for collective thoughts or decision, the artworks showcase the conceptual thoughts of the participating artists.

Artist Sabita Dangol has included comb as her principal motif. Also, the auspicious Astamangala, representing conjugal prosperity, is prevalent in her artworks. In her painting ‘Happiness without Fear’, she has used mono-color of brown in different tones to create a comb flaunting an Astamangala.
Similarly, Anamika Gautam has presented the theme adjustment. She says the society, politics and human ethos are heading toward the path that was unhoped-for; it is people’s obligation to adjust in such tyranny. Meanwhile, female figures are the major motifs in Deepmala Maharjan, Anisha Maharjan, and Namrata Singh’s paintings. They explore the different aspect of womanhood.
