KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The Central Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party which was scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 2 has been postponed for a month owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.


In a press statement on Wednesday afternoon, Shreeram Dhakal and Ishwari Rijal, secretaries of the NCP's central office said that the meeting will now take place from November 30 to December 4.

"The meeting has been postponed for now due to COVID-19 pandemic," read the press statement.


This will be the party's third Central Committee meeting after the two communist parties merged and formed a new party in June 2018.


The Central Committee meeting will start preparations for the party's upcoming general convention to be held from April 7 to 12 next year.
