Ruling coalition to take final decision on MCC tomorrow

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: A meeting of the five-party ruling coalition has been called for Thursday. The meeting is scheduled for 3PM at the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. The meeting is said to discuss forging consensus over the  US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement before tabling it in parliament.

A meeting between PM Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal held on Wednesday agreed not to table the MCC at the parliament meeting today. The two leaders also decided to call a ruling alliance meeting for tomorrow. 


Although the CPN (Maosit Center) announced to oppose the ratification of the MCC project before making any amendments, the Nepali Congress (NC) has announced to stand in favor of the grant agreement.
