Paswan was a candidate of (RSSP) contesting from constituency number 5 of Rauthat district.[break]
Paswan has joined the UCPN (Maoist) on Wednesday amidst a party function organized at Paltuwa VDC of the district.
He accused the party leadership of being undemocratic. “The party leadership was leading the party in an undemocratic way. He was imposing dictatorship in the party,” accused Paswan.
However, RSSP Chairman Bikram Bam clarified that Paswan defected to UCPN (Maoist) fearing the loss in the poll. “He [Paswan] quit the party as he was aware of his loss in the coming election,” said Bam.
