Rs 771,300 looted in Pokhara bank

POKHARA, Dec 29: A group of three men robbed Rs 771,300 from a person at Himalayan Bank in New Road here at noon on Tuesday.



Manoj Chauhan, an employee of Binod Enterprises at Chipledhunga, was filling the voucher keeping the bag on the floor when he was robbed. “One of the three men told me that my money had fallen on the floor to divert my attention. When I looked down, the bag was gone,” Chauhan said.



Police said the appearance of the three, who looked like Madhesis, is known and search is on for them. Police said they have CCTV footage of the incident.



Meanwhile, police have detained Chauhan suspecting he too could be involved in the robbery.
