The affected areas are in the desperate need of tents and so far 229,298 tents have arrived from neighbouring countries - China, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Japan and Korea. The ministries of local and urban development provided 340,221 tents to the Ministry. They were distributed in Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Dhading, Kavre, Nuwakot, Sindhuli, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Gorkha, Dolakha, Makwanpur, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Lamjung.Besides, the Nepal Red Cross Society has distributed tents to the disaster-affected districts.
The government has focused on equal distribution of relief assistance to all the survivors.
Meanwhile, stating that information has been received that accessible affected sites are flocked with relief providing organisations whereas the remote areas are waiting for the arrival of relief goods and such activities would give more pain to the victims, the Home Ministry has called on all the bodies concerned not to allow to happen this.
Relief providing organisations and people have been requested to do their work in coordination with the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee. RSS
