Rs 190 million collected in PM Disaster Relief Fund

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Nearly Rs 190 million has been collected in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund established by the government for the earthquake victims.

During the period from November 5 to November 27, as many as 74 organizations and individuals contributed that amount.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers called on various agencies and individuals to deposit relief in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund providing the account numbers of nine commercial banks on November 5.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, during the period from November 5 to 27, Rs 189.2 million has been deposited in the fund through bank transfers. The spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Narayan Prasad Bhatt, said that 74 organizations and individuals have deposited Rs 189.2 million in the fund.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Min Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni, is among those who have contributed more than Rs 10 million.

Gurung has contributed Rs 11.1 million to the fund. Buddha Air has contributed Rs 10 million. National Commercial Bank has also contributed Rs 10 million to the fund. Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd has also contributed Rs 10 million.

Similarly, Global IME Bank has also deposited Rs 10 million in the fund. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and Gorkha Brewery have also deposited Rs 10 million each in the fund. Similarly, Unilever Nepal Limited has also supported Rs 10 million.
