MUGU, Oct 23: The Karnali Province Disaster Management Council has extended condolences to the families of those killed in a bus accident in Mugu on October 12 and has decided to provide relief of Rs 100,000 to the families of the deceased. A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on Friday decided to provide relief to the families of the victims.
The council meeting also decided to provide Rs 100,000 relief each to the families of those killed in road accidents in other districts of the province. As many as 33 people were killed in the Mugu bus accident. The meeting also directed the authorities concerned to provide relief to the families of those who died of COVID-19.

So far, Rs 28.6 million has been provided to 286 people and the rest is yet to be distributed. It is mentioned in the press note issued by the Secretariat of the Chief Minister's Office that instructions have been given to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law to transfer the money to the bank accounts of the families of the deceased after verifying the documents through the District Administration Office.
Likewise, the meeting nominated provincial assembly members Bimala KC, Chandra Bahadur Shahi and Him Bahadur Shahi as members as per Rule 3 Sub-rule 920 of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Regulation, 2076.
