KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, suggesting him to declare a public holiday on January 11 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of late King Prithvi Narayani Shah.

In the memo, Chairman Lingden said, “The decision of the government led by Hon'ble Prime Minister in 2017 to grant a public holiday on January 11 was welcomed by the people but it was not implemented. I urge the PM to continue the decision and to celebrate January 11 as a public holiday as well as ‘National Unity Day’.
