KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has committed to vacate its central office within 21 days, following a dispute with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

The controversy arose when the KMC ordered the demolition of the RPP's central office in Dhumbarahi due to concerns about its construction under high tension. Despite being served with a three-day notice and several warnings by the metropolis, the RPP initially refused to comply with the vacation order.

On Monday, the KMC dispatched a team with a dozer to clear the RPP office premises, but the process faced a roadblock as RPP cadres strategically positioned cars to impede the KMC team's access, preventing the demolition from proceeding as planned.

However, the RPP issued a notification later in the evening stating that they will voluntarily vacate the premises within 21 days. The notice, signed by party chief secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, officially informs the metropolis of their commitment to vacate the office space.
