Right to justice is top priority of govt:Gupta

NEPALGUNJ, Feb 8: Minister for Law and Justice Brijesh Kumar Gupta has said that the government has placed people´s right to justice in the top priority.



Speaking at an interaction on "Human Rights and Legal Assistance" on Thursday, Minister Gupta said the commoners would be deprived of justice if implementation part was tough despite strong laws drafted.[break]



He also expressed the confidence that the issue of human rights would be protected in the new constitution, adding that human rights was the common issue of one and all.



Chief Judge at the Appellate Court, Nepalgunj, Keshav Prasad Mainali stressed the need of bridging role between legal practitioners and judiciary to maintain the interrelations between law and justice.



On the occasion, President of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA), Prem Bahadur Khadka is likely to present a working paper on ´Situation of Legal Assistance in Nepal, its Effectiveness, and Challenges´.



Legal practitioners, judges, rights activists, personnel of Nepal Police and Nepal Army, and other officials are present at the program.
