Lawmaker and central committee member of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) Pramod Gupta said they will submit a written memorandum to the party leadership on Thursday, demanding that a meeting of the parliamentary party be called immediately.
“There has been no progress in Madhesi issues, including recruiting Madhesi youths in the national army and withdrawing political cases filed against Madhesi leaders and cadres. So, we want our leadership to call a meeting to review what we have achieved so far by joining the government,” Gupta added.
He said that their party Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar had assured them of taking Madhesi issues forward by November 30. “A few days ago, he had told us at a meeting that he would do something by today (Wednesday) but nothing happened,” Gupta said.
Similarly, a senior leader of MPRF-Republican told Republica that they would strongly raise voices against the party leadership’s indifference toward the Madhesi cause at the meeting scheduled for Thursday morning.
