Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Ghimire praised Baskota for his commitment, loyalty, reformist attitude and positive thinking. Chief guest Risal said other officials in the civil administration should follow the path of Baskota to make people feel that real changes can be brought about.
On the occasion, writer Baskota said the publication of the book was possible due to his habit of enjoying his work in any sector. Baskota has included in the book his articles and interviews that were published in different newspapers, as well as other materials.
The program was organized by the Society of Economic Journalists - Nepal (SEJON).
Maruti Cement starts productions
KATHMANDU, June 3: Maruti Cement Company, a new cement-manufacturing company in the private sector, has commenced operations from Tuesday. The company possesses its own clinkers, the raw materials needed for the production of cement.
According to a press release, the company uses world-class equipment that has been adopted worldwide and follows all the international standards. It has also adopted the international-standard Electrostatio Precipitator (ESP) technology, which controls environment pollution.
"That has made Maruti the first cement industry to bring in ESP technology," says the release. The company has already bagged the ISO 9001 and 14001 quality standard marks.
The release further claims that Maruti Cement is the only company in Nepal that produces 53 OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) graded cement.
Elegance opens furnishing showroom
POKHARA, June 3: Elegance Trade Center has opened an international standard flooring and furnishing showroom in Chipledhunga of Pokhara on Tuesday.
The high-end showroom, which targets high class and medium-income groups, showcases domestic as well as imported flooring products from India, China, Switzerland and Belgium.
Uttam Man Buddhacharya, managing director of the center said that the outlet would provide flooring and furnishing products of international standard at affordable and fair prices. He elaborated that the showroom was opened keeping in view the growing demand of quality flooring and furnishing products, a product of increasing urbanization, a rising living standard and expanding banking networks in Pokhara.
The showroom is divided into four sections, for bedsheets, curtains, carpets and furniture, for the convenience of customers. Buddhacharya said a one-year warranty has been offered to customers, on all the products to be sold by the showroom.
All of the furniture items available in the showroom are imported from Guangzhou, in China; curtains, India; carpets, Belgium; and parquet, Switzerland.
The showroom is selling sofa sets at prices ranging from Rs 16,000 to 130,000--a price that´s cheaper than it is in the capital. Buddhacharya said products such as office tables, dining tables, bedsheets, and cupboards are also available at cheaper prices.
