Report of the bill related to Nepal Police and State Police passed

KATHMANDU, August 3: The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives has passed the report of the Bill on Operation, Supervision and Coordination of Performance of Federal Police and State Police. Committee President Shashi Shrestha said that the meeting held on Sunday passed the report brought by Home Ministry revising it incorporating suggestions of the lawmakers on the report of the bill.

The report would be tabled in the Federal Parliament within few days. Although the report finalized to assign Deputy Inspector General of the Nepal Police to the post of State Police Chief, an agreement was reached to give responsibility to the federal government to naming the post of state police chief in the meeting. As per the report, the state police would carry out activities collaborating and coordinating with Nepal Police as per the need.
