The report states that the service disruption was a result of managerial weakness. The committee was formed under the convenorship of company former general manager Suresh Kumar Pudasaini. The service was disconnected when optical fibers installed in between Sundhara and Babarmahal snapped, the report says.[break]
But it is not confirmed whether the fibers were cut by human or mice. There is the most possibility that they were cut by mice and no ill intention is realised, said Pudasaini while talking to media persons at the Ministry.
The mobile phone services operated by the NT were disrupted for around five hours from the morning on September 28 due to problem in optical fibers.
The report recommends the arrangement of standby staffs to avoid such problem in the future and departmental action if such problem repeated in the days ahead and someone is found guilty.
The committee comprises Joint Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister Mahendra Kumar Thapa and Under Secretary at the MoIC Gaurav Giri.
Receiving the report, Minister Poudel said such investigation would help improve quality of service in the coming days. He also pledged to implement the report.
