Bharatpur: Renu Dahal’s lead against closest rival Subedi growing steadily

CHITWAN, May 19: CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Renu Dahal has been widening the gap of votes as vote counting continues in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

CHITWAN, May 19: CPN (Maoist Center) leader Renu Dahal who is a common candidate of the five-party ruling alliance for the post of mayor in Bharatpur Metropolis, has been steadily increasing her lead against her closest rival, UML’s Bijay Subedi, as vote-counting continues.


By the end of the counting of votes in Ward no. 8, Dahal garnered 2,946 votes. During the counting of 37,867 votes in Bharatpur, Dahal has secured 14,377 votes, while her closest rival Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML has got 11,431 votes.

Independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 5,997 votes.


Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has been increasing the number of votes for the post of deputy mayor. He has got 16,741 votes. Another contender for the post of deputy mayor Himla Gurung of RPP has received 9,269 votes.
