Pun, a Maoist secretariat member, said the government has been trying to derail the peace process by reconstituting the army integration special committee.
“Pushpa Kamal Dahal was made the chairman of the special committee on the ground that he is the head of the largest political party. It is not that the prime minister should head the committee,” said Pun. He argued that the special committee headed by Dahal should be continued.
Maoist lawmaker Janardan Sharma criticized the government for the state of lawlessness in society.
Likewise, Nepali Congress chief whip Laxman Prasad Ghimire condemned the Maoists for pelting stones on Saturday at a function attended by party president Girija Prasad Koirala and senior CPN-UML leader K P Oli.
On Monday, Finance Minister Surendra Pandey tabled the appropriation bill for discussion. The parliament will discuss the bill from Friday onwards. Speaker Subas Nembang also informed the lawmakers that President Ram Baran Yadav signed the vote on account bill passed by the parliament. The house has been adjourned till Friday.
