KATHMANDU, Sept 16:  Resunga Airport in Gulmi has once again come to life as Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) resumed regular flight operations starting Friday with the improved weather conditions.

The airport had faced disruptions in its regular flight schedule due to adverse weather conditions, despite initially commencing commercial flights at the end of May. Subsequently, flights had to be suspended from June onward.

On Friday morning, an NAC aircraft departed from Kathmandu for Resunga with 11 passengers on board. Only three passengers made the journey from Resunga to Kathmandu.

Suman Thapa, the In-charge of Resunga Airport for NAC, confirmed that moving forward, flights will be operated on Fridays once a week, contingent upon weather conditions. With the onset of the festival season, the NAC anticipates that passenger numbers will remain robust.

The flight from Kathmandu to Resunga is scheduled for 6:30 AM, with the return flight from Resunga to Kathmandu departing at 7:45 AM. The fare for the Resunga-Kathmandu route is set at Rs 7,080, while the Kathmandu-Resunga fare stands at Rs 7,280.
