Regmi leaving for New York to address 68th UNGA

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Despite requests from High Level Political Committee (HLPC), Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi is all set to fly to New York to take part in the 68th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). [break]



“Chairman Regmi will leave Tribhuvan International Airport by Etihad Airways at 9:20 pm on Thursday,” said his press coordinator Rejendra Pandey over telephone.



Regmi will be accompanied by his wife Santa Regmi, personal aide Prakash Regmi, protocol chief of foreign affairs Kali Prasad Pokharel and two security personnel, said Pandey.



He will address the 68th UNGA on Saturday. A schedule has it that Regmi will visit United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Sigh on the sideline of the assembly on that day. He will also visit the Nepali migrants there in the evening.



He will return home on Sunday.
