RASUWA, Oct 15: The victims of Rasuwa displaced by the devastating earthquakes of 2015 have returned back to their village for celebrating the Dashain festival at their home at last.
According to Ram Bahadur Tamang, a quake victim from Haku, Rasuwa, the victims decided to celebrate the festival at their home this time after observing the biggest festival of the Nepalis in make-shift tents for three consecutive years post-earthquake.
“All 25 households of Haku sheltering under make-shift tents in Dhunche have returned to their village,” said Som Bahadur Tamang of Aama Chhodingmo Rural Municipality-2. He expressed his hope that the neighbors will be reunited for the first time since the earthquakes.
“As the victims were in different camps, the neighbors could not meet each other. So, Dashain is only the time they can meet each other,” said Yangjen Tamang from Haku.
The devastating earthquakes and dry landslides in Haku, Dandagaun and Thulogaun areas of the district have displaced more than 400 households.
