The market, factories, businesses, transport and educational institutions are closed due to the banda, police said.
Similarly, according to reports coming in from Bhadrapur, normal life in this eastern town has also been paralyzed by the general strike.
The Rastriya Janamorcha has been calling for early elections, dissolution of the federalism and timely constitution.
