Rana wins Indian Ambassador's Golf

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Robin Rana won the title of Indian Ambassador´s Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.



The 14-handicap amateur player scored 42 points to finish a point ahead of Subodh Thapa in the tournament played under the stableford ¾ handicap format over 18 holes at the par-72 golf course.[break]



Rana scored 21 points in either half while Thapa garnered 21 and 20 points for a total of 41 points under 18-handicap allowance. Rene Einhaus won the best gross award with 33 points.



Rekha Ghimire bagged the title in the women´s section scoring 30 points. Kesang Lama finished second at 29.



In the senior section, former lieutenant general (Lt Gen) Krishna N Thapa scored 33 points to lift the title. Former Lt Gen Victory SJB Rana finished second with 26 points.



Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayanta Prasad, Chief of Army Staff General Gaurab SJB Rana and Sanjeev Gandhi of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd gave away prizes to the winners. A total of 64 players had taken part in the annual event organized by the Indian embassy and sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd.
