KATHMANDU, May 1: The government has appointed Raju Aryal as the Inspector General (IG) of Armed Police Force (APF). A Cabinet meeting on Sunday decided to appoint Aryal to the crucial post.
Aryal joined the police service as an Inspector of Nepal Police on 31 March, 1998. He was transferred to the PF after it was formed in 2001. He was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of APF in the same year. He was then promoted to the post of Superintendent (SP) in 2007, Senior Superintendent (SSP) in 2014 and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of APF in 2019.
Newly-appointed Aryal, who has four years of experience in missions under the flagship of the United Nations, has also served as the head of more than 10 different units. He holds Master’s degrees in four subjects from Tribhuvan University, including Rural Development in Special Category, Sociology and Political Science in First Class, and International Humanitarian Law.
