Q&A session with PM in parliament today

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: A question-answer (Q&A) session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is on the agenda for today's House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, scheduled for 1 PM at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar. 


The Q&A session with the PM is provisioned under Chapter 9 of the Rules of the House of Representatives, 2079, where MPs ask questions in alphabetical order.


Likewise, Speaker Devraj Ghimire has an agenda to change the names of members in the thematic committees under the HoR.

Dr Tosima Karki is scheduled to draw the attention of the Minister for Health and Population to a matter of public importance: ensuring effective forecasting, control, and rapid response to the health crisis that may arise due to the rising cholera cases in the Kathmandu Valley.


There is also an agenda to present the notice of opposition by lawmaker Prem Suwal on the motion seeking permission to introduce the Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081, to the House for a decision.


Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081.


Similarly, the agenda includes the notice of opposition placed by MP Suwal on the proposal seeking permission to introduce the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance Bill, 2081, for discussion. 


Finance Minister Paudel is also scheduled to present the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081.
