KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Punya Gautam has sustained severe injuries after being attacked by an unknown person. He was attacked on the road in Besigaun, Gokarneshwar Municipality-8 at around 9:30 pm on Monday.
According to the police, 46-year-old Gautam, who was attacked while walking in front of his house, has sustained deep injuries at the back of his head and forehead from a sharp weapon.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nabaraj Adhikari, said that Gautam is currently undergoing treatment at Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel. Police said that he is now able to speak.
The details regarding the attack on Gautam, including the motive and identity of the assailant, have not been disclosed yet. SP Adhikari said that an investigation into this matter is underway.
