Pun files candidacy for vice presidential post

KATHMANDU, March 17: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has filed his candidacy for the post of Vice President of Federal Nepal again on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, March 17: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has filed his candidacy for the post of Vice President at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar on Saturday. 


UML leader Subas Nembang, Pampha Busal, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Rekha Sharma and Parshuram Meghi Gurung proposed Pun as a Vice Presidential candidate while his candidacy was seconded by CPN (Maoist Center) leader Dev Gurung, Onsari Gharti, Jayapuri Gharti, Ram Narayan Bidari and Rajendra Prasad Gautam.

According to Election Commission (EC), nominations can be filed until 2 pm. 


The election for the post of vice president will be held on March 23. Vice President Pun is filing his candidacy for the second time at the backing of Left -Alliance. 


President Bidya Devi Bhandari has already been elected to the post on 2013.
