KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Center), Barshaman Pun, has claimed that the ruling coalition partner, Nepali Congress (NC), has brought forward a proposal to change the incumbent government.
Addressing a program in Bhume Rural Municipality in Rukum-East on Friday, Pun claimed that NC leaders have proposed a change in government as public discontent with the current government is growing.

"They have suggested that we should discuss alternatives. However, we do not want to form a government that simply swaps roles, with NC as an alternative to UML and UML as an alternative to NC, serving the interest of middlemen. This is our firm stance," Pun said.
According to Pun, the NC leaders said UML has been threatening them, claiming that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has already been implemented, and now the communists should join hands. He added that the NC leaders are not ready to tolerate the tantrums of UML anymore as new scandals involving UML and Oli surface every week. “They suggest discussing alternatives,” he added.
