KHOTANG, Sept 22: The girl students at Sharada Secondry School at Hauchur in Khotang district, who were recently taken ill with mass hysteria, have received psychosocial counseling.
The sub-regional office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Diktel of Khotang district provided counseling not only to students but to their parents to enable them to tackle the psychological condition.
The outbreak of mass hysteria among the girls towards the last week of June nearly led the school on the verge of closure for it continued to grip them rather than being subdued, according to the Principal Ram Kumar Baruwal.
The teaching learning activities of the school was affected since the problem appeared among some girl students above grade 7. They had fallen unconscious suddenly and started screaming and crying uncontrollably, shared Principal Baruwal. RSS
