KATHMANDU, July 10: Chairman of Public Service Commission (PSC) Umesh Mainali on Wednesday urged the government and the parliament not to intervene in activities of constitutional bodies including PSC.
Speaking at an interaction program in Kathmandu, Mainali asserted that the constitutional bodies can perform better and compliment the works of the government and parliament if they are allowed to function independently.
"Constitutional bodies such as Public Service Commission, Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority and Election Commission can perform better if they are allowed to function independently," he said.
Mainali drew the attention of the government to the need for ensuring the reservation quotas of all communities in the civil service.
"Let's think about how to ensure reservation quotas in the civil service as the Federal Civil Service Act is currently under consideration of the Parliament," he said.
