DHANKUTA, Nov 13: The Province 1 government is preparing to construct a teaching hospital in Dhankuta.
Political parties agreed to construct the teaching hospital at Dhankuta Metropolitan City-6 during an all-party meeting in Dhankuta. As per the agreement, the hospital will be constructed in 47 ropani land of CMA Campus.

According to Krishna Bahadur Ghimire, chief district officer (CDO) of Dhankuta, the land is registered in the name of Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine.
“The campus already has required infrastructures. It will be easy to start courses in the building in the initial stage,” he said, adding that the land of Nepal Trust at Dhankuta Municipality-7 will also be used for the construction of the teaching hospital. Nepal Trust has a total of 194 ropani of land. Out of the total land, Civil Servant Residential School occupies 134 ropani land, according to Suresh Kafle, principle of the school.
Likewise, 47 ropani of land of Dhankuta Municipality-7 will also be utilized for the construction of the teaching hospital.
Speaking at the all-party meeting, Niran Rai, Provincial Assembly member of Province 1, said that there is a need of province-level teaching hospital in the region. “The parties have agreed to construct the hospital realizing the need of a teaching hospital in the region,” he added.
Likewise, another provincial lawmaker Indramadi Parajuli said the land is near the Koshi Highway and is environmental friendly to construct a teaching hospital.
