Province 3 registers second win in women’s football

DANG/ KAPILVASTU, April 120: Province 3 registered its second win in women’s football in the ongoing Eighth National Games in Dang on Friday. 

At the Beljhundi Stadium, Province 3 defeated Province 2 3-1 to register its second win. 
All three departmental teams Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force (APF) Club and Tribhuvan Army Club have recorded victories as well in other matches played on the day. 

In Province 3’s win, Parbati Ghale scored a brace, while Manisha Thapa Magar added one. Nikita Thoker scored a consolation for Province 2. 

In the other match played earlier on the day at the Bharatpur Stadium, Chitwan, Police defeated Province 5 6-0 with a hat-trick from Niru Thapa, a brace from Amrita Jaisi and a strike from Nirmala BK. 

Elsewhere, at the Banganga Municipality’s Buddha Stadium, Army beat Province 1 8-0, while APF thrashed Gandaki Province 11-0. The APF had trounced Karnali Province 23-0 on Thursday.
In men’s football in Rupandehi, Police registered its second straight win as it defeated Army 1-0 to garner six points in Group B. 

In the other game of the group, Province 2 beat Sudur Paschim Province 4-2 to register its first three points. 

Army and Sudur Paschim are second and third respectively with three points each.
