Province 2 government declares Rs 300 thousand each to families of toxic alcohol victims

JANAKPUR, March 16: The Province 2 government has declared monetary compensation to those bereaved families of the victims of intake of bootleg. 


Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut this morning visited Ramdaiya of Kshireshwornath municipality with the highest death toll from the drinking of toxic alcohol on the occasion of the Holi festival on March 10 and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, promising to provide Rs 300 thousand each to the bereaved families.

 He made it clear that those involved in the supply of moonshine would be brought under the purview of law, announcing to declare the province free from the open sale of alcohol.


 Minister for internal affairs and law Gyanendra Kumar Yadav, who was accompanying the Chief Minister, said a security committee meeting would take place today itself which would proceed for controlling the open supply of alcohol and bringing culprit(s) to book. 


It may be noted lawmaker Raghubir Mahaseth on Sunday had met with the bereaved families and handed Rs 20,000 each to the bereaved family to conduct death rituals.


 Till Sunday, the death toll from the intake of toxic alcohol has reached 17.
