UDAYAPUR, Dec 23: Property worth over Rs 30 million was reduced to ashes after a diesel-filled tanker parked near Saurya Cement Industry caught fire in Katari municipality-8 on Saturday night.
According to District Police Office, Udayapur, 6,000 liters of diesel contained in the tanker, 460 liters of diesel stored in two drums and two excavators of Komatsu Company were destroyed in the fire.
Acting upon the information, a police team led by DSP Govinda Lal Karna from Area Police Office, Katari was deployed in the incident site. The tanker was blazing when the team reached the incident site.
Property worth Rs 10 m destroyed as dairy catches fire
The team took the fire under control after two hours with the help of locals and staffers of Saurya Cement Industry.
SP Chandra Dev Rai, chief of Udayapur District Police Office, said that they are investing the case.
