Property Expo starts

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Himal Steel Property Expo 2009, a three-day event aimed at providing a common platform for real estate dealers, began at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall on Friday. Organized by First Kathmandu Pvt Ltd, the event is managed by Direction Nepal Pvt Ltd. [break]



The expo is first of its kind real estate trade expo, which provides an exciting platform for interested Nepali entrepreneurs both from Nepal and abroad to expand the boundaries of their investment portfolio, in Nepal. According to Rajan Karmacharya, managing director of First Kathmandu Pvt Ltd, the expo targets the middle- class individuals and has lucrative and economical offers for this group.







Apartments worth Rs 1300,000 and 1800,000 are the attractive offers that Guna Colony, one of the exhibitor, is offering at the event. Apartment worth Rs 1300,000 covers an area of 350 square feet and features one master bedroom, a living room and a kitchen. Another apartment that costs Rs 1800,000, however, has two bedrooms, living room and kitchen and is spread over an area of 500 square feet.



“Guna is offering apartments at minimum cost. These apartments are built in the best possible way and provide all those facilities for which one has to pay higher prices in other housing companies,” Karmcharya claimed.



The expo features over 50 exhibitors including real estate developers, real estate agents, banks and financial institutions, money transfer agents, life insurance companies, property fund and service providers, and interior decoration service provides, among others.







The organizers called the expo a unique meeting point for policy makers, industrialists, manufacturers, suppliers and users of wide range of goods and services.

Sudish Niraula, an exhibitor of Housing Nepal, an online guide to property developers, agents/brokers, private sellers and firms, said the expo of this kind will enable Nepali people to chose the best available real estate options and at the same time promote their business.



Basanta Thapa, a visitor from Bhaktapur, found the expo worth visiting. He was at the show to learn about the prevailing apartment price trend in Kathmandu and also to check out the nominal rates the exhibitors are offering.
