Prohibitory order to start from Monday in Baitadi

BAITADI, May 2: The local administration in Baitadi district has enforced prohibitory orders in the district effective from Monday. Chief District Officer (CDO) Rajendra Dev Pandey decided to enforce the prohibitory order in Baitadi starting Monday after a meeting of the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) on Sunday recommended him for the same.

The prohibitory order starting from Monday will be implemented till the midnight of May 15, said Pandey. Movement of vehicles will be banned during the period and no one will be allowed to walk around unnecessarily. Food and medical stores will be allowed to open from 7 AM to 10 AM. Emergency services, ambulance, and pharmacies will remain open, he added.

Similarly, any kind of construction works in the district will have to request a recommendation from their concerned office’s head and head of planning who will further decide whether to continue the work. As stated by COD Pandey,  activities like marriages and bartabandas will be allowed with the participation of few people and in coordination with the District Administration Office. Action will be taken against anyone violating the prohibitory order according to the Infectious Diseases Act 2020.

The local people of Baitadi had raised their voice to impose a prohibitory order following the rise of coronavirus infection in the district. As stated by the District Public Health Office, there are currently 213 active cases of COVID-19 with four recorded deaths in the district.
