Prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley extended for one more week (with notice)

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: The district administration offices (DAOs) of the Kathmandu Valley have decided to extend ongoing prohibitory order for one more week.


A virtual meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur took a decision to this effect on Wednesday afternoon. According to a notice issued by the District Administration Office in Kathmandu, the prohibitory order has been extended until September 9 in view of rising coronavirus cases in the Valley. 


The two-week-long prohibitory order was expiring today midnight.

The decision comes as COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the Valley for the past few days. With 388 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, Kathmandu Valley’s COVID-19 tally stands at 6,112, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. 


On an average 300 plus cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Valley every day in recent days.
