KATHMANDU, Oct 13: The Election Commission has prepared a draft of procedure to register voter name-lists of Nepali citizens residing abroad and update it, 2080. And the EC has solicited suggestions on it.

As per the procedures the Nepali citizens living in foreign countries remaining to be enlisted yet in voter name-list could be incorporated in the system from abroad itself. The EC has uploaded the draft of the procedures on its website on Thursday and urged all concerned to provide their feedback on it.

In the draft, it has been proposed to assign the countries for registration of names in the voter list of the Nepali people and determine centers by respective diplomatic missions of the country. 

An arrangement has been made where the EC will write to the Foreign Ministry to assign concerned employees to register names in the voter list.

Nepalese living abroad could select a place and date appropriate for them for biometric collection after filling the form through an online system if they want to register their names in the voter list.

Anyone willing to provide suggestions on the provisions incorporated in the draft could do so within November 16.
