KATHMANDU, March 21: Police have arrested the prime suspect of the gang-rape of a girl that took place some two months ago at Landmark Hotel, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. Shailesh Karki was arrested from Durbar Marg on Tuesday.
Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbar Marg, arrested Karki when he was walking at Durbar Marg and handed him over to the Metropolitan Police Range, said DSP Dan Bahadur Malla. However, the other three accused in the gang-rape - Bikash Gautam, Dipak Shrestha and Ravi Paudel - are still absconding.
Two months ago, a girl was gang-raped at the hotel by her lover and three other youths. Durbar Marg police was accused of trying to strike a financial deal between the accused and the victim to resolve the rape case.
