A press statement issued by the embassy said doctors involved in the medical checkup, however, have advised him to undergo further medical tests to arrive at a final conclusion. Sources close to President Yadav said the president is likely to be flown home on Thursday if the final medical reports showed no problem in his health.[break]
According to Professor Toshiaki Watanabe who is the Vice-Director of the hospital and supervisor of the select team of specialists of the state-of-art medical institute, reports of all the tests carried out so far have been found normal. “The Head of state has been taking food normally as usual and is absolutely fine,” the statement said.
A team of doctors and specialists under the supervision of Professor Watanabe is involved in the treatment of Yadav.
The president was flown to Tokyo for further diagnosis and treatment after a black spot was detected in his large intestine. He has been admitted to the Tokyo hospital since June 18.
Earlier, the government in an unusual haste had decided to send him to Tokyo for treatment as per the recommendation of the medical board. The medical board concluded that further medical checkup was required in the sophisticated hospital as the black spot could not be diagnosed properly in Nepal´s medical facilities.
