Various distinguished personalities including Vice-president, Parmanand Jha, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, chief Justice, Khilraj Regmi, Chief Secretary, Leelamani Paudyal, high-level government officials, and chiefs of the Nepal Army, Police and Armed Police Force were also present on the occasion.
Pandits Dinanath Aryal and Bishnu Prasad Khanal of the Hanumandhoka Herchaha Karyalaya (office), had recited the basanta.
On the occasion, various artistes had played the malashree tunes.A contingent of Nepal Army accorded a guard of honour to President Dr Yadav.
This day is observed as Basanta Panchami as the advent of spring season.
