KATHMANDU, April 1: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in a wind storm that so far has killed 28 people in Bara and Parsa district. Of those deceased, 12 have been identified as men and five are children.
Bhandari has urged concerned authorities to immediately rescue and provide relief materials to the victims. In addition, the President said that she was grieved by the loss of infrastructure and agricultural products.

She also urged forecasting divisions to pre-inform communities on natural disasters such as wind, flood, landslide and fire among others to reduce human and physical casualties.
Leave no stones unturned: Speaker Mahara
Speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has urged the government and stakeholders to make rescue and relief work effective. Mahara also expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property in the incident, while urging the government to not let any stone unturned in the medical treatment of the injured.
