Presidential rule after May 28: Bijukchhe

BHAKTAPUR, May 3: Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party ( NWPP) chairman Narayan Man Bijukchhe has said the CA’s tenure should be extended by imposing presidential rule if the constitution is not drafted within the stipulated May 28.



Talking to media persons in his hometown Bhaktapur on Monday, Bijukchhe said presidential rule should be imposed to extend the CA tenure if timely promulgation of the constitution is not possible.[break]

 

He said all members in the CA are responsible for the delay in constitution making and Maoists, as the single largest party in the CA, is more responsible for the delay. Saying that street is not the right place to seek government change, he said stressed the need to find a way out of the ongoing deadlock through parliament.



He said peace process and constitution making have been obstructed due to the mutual distrust among the parties and stressed on need for collaboration and consensus to take the tasks to a conclusion.



He said people have been hit hard due to the strike and urged the Maoists to come to negotiations to resolve the problems facing the country.
