President, other VVIPs observe Indra Jatra (Photos)

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: President Ramchandra Paudel and other VVIPs have arrived in Basantpur to witness the Indra Jatra. They reached Basantpur by walking from New Road.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Education, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati and others reached Basantpur to observe Indrajatra. 

They were welcomed by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol.

Every year, the Rath Jatra (chariot procession) of living goddesses Kumari, Ganesha and Bhairav is held as part of the Indrajatra celebrated at Hanuman Dhoka Palace complex in Kathmandu.
