KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Ramesh Maharjan, President of Federation of Nepal Gold, Silver, Gem and Jewelry Associations (FNGSGJA), succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday.

According to family sources, Maharjan,56, was admitted to Mediciti Hospital last week after he developed symptoms of the pandemic disease.
Most recently, he was also involved in the Bibeksheel Sajha Party. In the 2017 election, Maharjan contested for the post of Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Maharjan is survived by a son and two daughters.
