KATHMANDU, Aug 12: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepali Muslim sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity and good health on the occasion of Bakra Eid.
In a message today on the occasion, President Bhandari expressed her confidence that the festival of Islamic people would help promote mutual harmony, tolerance, togetherness and fraternity among all Nepali in the multicultural and multi-religious country.

She further expressed confidence that such strong cultural diversity could help promote and strengthen the common determination of Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali. The message further reads that such cultural and religious diversity could promote national tourism as well. Id-ul-Zuha is a festival that is celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety in the world, particularly in the Muslim community.
Many Muslims wear new clothes and attend an open-air prayer meeting during Id-ul-Zuha on the occasion.
