At the ceremony, the Nepal Army opened celebratory volley fire, individual fire and fired canon salvoes in succession on the occasion.[break]
Vice President Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang, Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, chiefs of diplomatic missions in Nepal and high-ranking government officials were present on the occasion.
Upon his arrival at the celebrations venue, President Dr. Yadav was welcomed by Chief of Army Staff Chhatraman Singh Gurung and the Nepal Army offered a guard of honour to him.
A large number of people had gathered around the army pavillion, Tundikhel to watch the Phulpati celebrations.
The seventh day of the 10-day Dashain Festival is observed as Phulapati.
